Our idyllic setting in the heart of the Brecon Beacons is the perfect place to retire your much loved, loyal friend. The first private retirement home for horses in the country, with over 30 years of experience.
Our Family Run Space
We are a family owned ninety acre farm nestled in the green valley of Crai, surrounded by mature woodlands and hedgerows. In the Summer the horses live out in groups of four to six based on age and character within our large, spacious fields. Our fields are rotated often, with droppings picked regularly and occasional mixed grazing with sheep.
During winter they each return to their individual brick stables and are still turned out daily with their groups. We have a strict worming policy with annual worm counts and regular dentist visits to maintain teeth. To keep our owners informed we issue a monthly report and regular photos, so they can see first hand how happy their horses are.
Making The Choice
We appreciate that making the decision to retire your horse can be a very difficult, emotional decision. Distance, security, professional care and finance all play a part, we can help take all those worries away from you, and prefer you come and visit us to see our space and decide for yourself.
Most of our horses us have come from mixed working yards where horses are coming and going all day, but horses are creatures of habit and love to go back to the herd instinct and make friends. Very often owners are surprised how well and quickly their horse settles in.
We are very happy to show you around the farm at any time or answer any questions you may have, and can advise or arrange accommodation if you would like to come and visit your horse - combining it with a short break.
